Adapter sleeves are the most commonly used components for locating bearings with a tapered bore onto a cylindrical seat as they can be used on plain shafts or stepped shafts .
Adapter sleeve
Adapter sleeves are widely used components for positioning bearings with tapered bores on cylindrical shaft seats. They can be used on smooth or stepped shafts.
Their installation is very simple and requires no additional fixing on the shaft. Using an adapter sleeve on a smooth shaft, the bearing can be installed in any position on the shaft. EESCO adapter sleeves are supplied with locking nuts and locking devices.
Adapter sleeve for oil injection
These sleeves have an oil supply duct (or ducts) at the threaded side of the sleeve and distributor grooves in the bore as well as the outside surface.
Sleeves up to and including size 40 have on supply duct, larger sleeves have two.
Withdrawal sleeve
The purpose of the withdrawal sleeve includes mounting a bearing with a tapered bore on a cylindrical seat on a stepped shaft. The sleeve is pressed into the bearing bore adjacent to the shaft shoulder or similar fixed component. The sleeve sits on the shaft via a nut or end plate. The sleeve is grooved with an external taper of 1:12 or 1:30.

These AOH sleeves have two oil supply channels on the threaded side and oil distributor grooves both circumferentially and axially in the outer surface and in the sleeve bore. By injecting oil through these pipes and grooves, an oil film will form between the mating surfaces of the bearing and sleeve, and between the shaft and sleeve, so that no great effort is required when installing the bearing.
