A cylindrical roller bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that uses cylindrical rollers to maintain the separation between the moving parts of the bearing. The rollers are directed orthogonally (perpendicular) to the axis of rotation of the inner ring, and they make point contact with the raceways on the inner and outer rings.
